Social Media Reacts to Tennessee Beating No. 1 Alabama

Social Media Reacts to Biletnikoff Winner Jalin Hyatt

Tennessee Basketball AlabamaTwitter reacts to Tennessee’s win over Alabama on Wednesday night in Knoxville.

No. 10 Tennessee defeated No. 1 Alabama by a score of 68-59 in Knoxville on Wednesday night.

The Vols bounced back from adversity after the two-straight buzzer-beating losses to Vanderbilt and Missouri by knocking off the Tide just two days after they received the No. 1 ranking in the nation.

After the game, Tennessee Twitter had a field day with the victory. Alabama Twitter, on the other hand, did not.

For the second time since Tennessee Football’s win over Alabama in October, Dixieland Delight rained down from the loudspeakers after the victory as Vol fans proudly (and loudly) sang along.

Check out some of the best reactions from social media below.

3 things I love from this game vs #1 Bama. 1. The effort and Energy and discipline they played with. 2, VOL NATION made an atmosphere like no other. 3, the front court came to play, physical, imposing will and not backing down!! #GoVols

Tennessee held Alabama to just 59 points and beat the No. 1 team in the country WITHOUT Josiah-Jordan James and Julian Phillips. Vols aren’t pretty, but they’re still very capable.

No. 10 Tennessee beats No. 1 Alabama 68-59, Zakai Zeigler does the Karate Kid in celebration. Gutty performance by the Vols without Josiah James and Julian Phillips. Zeigler 15 pts, 8 assists, 0 turnovers. Vescovi 15 and 8 rebounds. Aidoo 12 pts, 11 rebs. UT 26 pts off TOs.

Looking at Tennessee/Alabama in the past year and Tennessee has the following in head to head matchups:

2 wins in baseball ✅
1 win in football ✅
1 win in men’s basketball ✅
1 win in women’s basketball ✅

this Tennessee team showed up with Kenny Powers Mindset tonight, flipping birds everywhere, throwing beer cans at Alabama’s guards, and said “deal with it”

In the 25 years prior to Rick Barnes being hired at Tennessee (1990-2015), the Vols were just 21-51 against teams ranked in the AP Top 10.

In 8 seasons under Barnes, the Vols are 12-10 against Top 10 teams, including winning 7 of their last 8 games against top 10 teams.

I titled my first book “Dixieland Delight,” I love that Tennessee has brought back the song and now plays it all the time at games. Should have never left it. It’s a Tennessee Saturday night!
