Tennessee ranked No. 6 in the final USA Today Coaches Poll of the 2022 football season, matching its ranking in the AP Poll.

The Vols went 11-2 (6-2 SEC) in Josh Heupel’s second season as head coach with wins over Florida, LSU, Alabama and Clemson.

USA Today shared the voting for the final rankings of the season, showing which coaches were lower on Tennessee and which ones were high on the Vols.

Alabama landed ahead of Tennessee at No. 5 in the rankings, keeping the Vols from their first top five season in the 21st century. Then there were the coaches who ranked Tennessee seventh or lower in the rankings, lower than Penn State and even Kansas State.

The most notable coaches who voted Tennessee low include Butch Jones, Greg Schiano, Dave Doeren and Marcus Freeman.

There were many notable coaches that voted Tennessee above the Crimson Tide including Kirby Smart, Sonny Dykes, James Franklin and Sam Pittman.
